If you want to change your life, learn something new, cultivate better habits, then there is one thing that you´ll need to have in place: a goal.
Or wait, do you really?
Goals are great. They provide direction and motivation and make sure that you stay on track.
But goals bear some risks too:
Goals are black or white
Goals provide direction, but they naturally leave only little room for interpretation. Either you reach your goal - or not. Either you win - or lose. Either you achieve what you wanted - or you fail. If you are not careful you might not notice all the little wins in between.
Narrow focus
If you want to reach something in your life, it is easy to get caught up in focusing on the goal alone, particularly when you are driven and motivated. But when the goal becomes the only objective, everything you do you has to support this one goal, and you might forget that there is a life happening as well.
Goals can feel stressy
And there is another thing: focusing on your goal can create pressure. If you are someone who is naturally motivated you will like to go the extra mile, put some extra work in, and make sure you do everything to reach this goal. Great! But, this can feel quite stressful too!
And what is the point in working towards a goal - that is perhaps to lead a purposeful, balanced, easeful life - when feeling just stressed all along the way?
One mindset shift
Let me be clear, I think goals are very important if you want to create a life and career on your terms, get paid for something you love doing, and feel good and like YOU every day.
But what if you could do that without feeling stressed or pressured or behind while building that?
And what if I told you that your goals are rarely about the goals themselves?
But about something way deeper?
